Refresh- Chassis Replacement
2009 Land Rover Defender 90
This lovely Defender sadly came in to us as an MOT fail due to holes in the chassis caused by corrosion. We had a look at it and advised the customer to replace the whole chassis instead of repairing it.
This chassis refresh was completed by our Technician Kyle in a speedy 40 hours.
Work completed May 2023
Body mountings being removed to lift the body off of the old chassis.
Body lifted up and off of the old chassis.
Body separated from old chassis.
New galvanised chassis attached onto axles.
Axles & new chassis bolts together.
Coil springs, steering box & pipes fitted.
Fitting rear shock absorbers, fuel tank in.
New Galvanised chassis now rolling with axles, suspension & fuel pipes fitted.
Coil springs, power steering box & pipes fitted to new chassis.
Engine & gearbox being lowered into rolling chassis.
Engine & gearbox now installed into the rolling chassis.
Galvanised new front suspension turrets, we fit these with every chassis replacement we do.
New brake pipe made up, just the new brake flexi pipe to go on.
Rear attaching chassis & body mountings.
Tow bar being fitted to the new chassis.
